The Ideal Utah Wellness Retreat: ULUM Moab

Tucked into the red rock landscape outside Moab, ULUM earns its place as a true wellness retreat through the details, not just the setting. Mornings open with guided yoga flows and sound baths on a dedicated deck overlooking the canyon; days unwind with massages, hot and cool dipping pools for recovery, and fresh-pressed juices and smoothies from the on-site café. Beyond the spa-inspired amenities, wellness here is woven into everything: hiking to Looking Glass Arch, rafting the Colorado River, or biking desert trails restores the body, while an International Dark-Sky certified night sky invites quiet reflection. Evenings end with healthy, seasonal Southwestern-inspired cuisine and craft beverages infused with local juniper, sage, and prickly pear. Add in safari-inspired Suite Tents with Aesop bath products and private red-rock-view decks, and ULUM becomes less a place to visit than a place to reset.

Under Canvas—the leader in upscale, outdoor hospitality—has recently introduced its newest brand, ULUM, a luxury, outdoor resort with its first location just south of Moab, Utah. What’s Included in a Wellness Stay at ULUM Moab

Guests can also explore the full range of wellness experiences at ULUM Moab, from yoga and sound baths to dipping pools, massage, mindful movement, and restorative time in the desert.

Embracing Nature and Comfort

You’ll know ULUM Moab is different from the moment you first discover it. The open flow design reflects nature inside and out—from its low-profile, modern lobby featuring bi-fold, floor-to-ceiling windows; to its comfortable, climate-controlled interior; to its thoughtful design elements, such as a custom-made chandelier crafted from ancient stone, polished concrete finishes, natural wood furnishings, and more.

At ULUM Moab, your upscale, safari-inspired Suite Tent has a king-size bed outfitted with Parachute linens, a lounge area with comfy West Elm furnishings, and a private, 70-square-foot deck ideal for enjoying the stunning red rock views. Open the sliding barn door to enter your ensuite bathroom, with its rain shower, polished concrete sink, and natural Aesop bath products. An evaporative cooler and a wood stove make your accommodations comfortable from spring through fall.

Starting the Day Right

Outside of your Suite Tent, you’ll find an array of outstanding amenities. Dine on healthy, seasonal, Southwestern-inspired cuisine at ULUM Moab’s full-service restaurant, which offers breakfast and dinner both indoors and al fresco. Watch the sun set as you sip a craft beverage created with local flora such as juniper, sage, and prickly pear.

After dinner, enjoy live acoustic music and s’mores around the fire pit as you gaze at the incredible night sky. Nearby Arches and Canyonlands national parks are both certified by the International Dark-Sky Association. You’ll probably see more stars here than you’ve ever seen in your lifetime and spend more time stargazing than any other activity.

In the morning, relax and refresh with a complimentary guided yoga flow on ULUM Moab’s dedicated yoga deck. You don’t need to bring your own gear because ULUM supplies VUORI mats and blocks.

After yoga and breakfast, you can explore the 200 acres of land that surround the camp, beginning with a short, easy hike over slickrock to Looking Glass Arch. The views are spectacular, with the Abajo Mountains to the southwest and an expansive valley to the west. This is also a popular climbing spot, so you may be able to watch climbers swing through the arch in their harnesses for an extra thrill.

Exploring Canyonlands

ULUM Moab’s Guest Services team members can help plan any activities you want to enjoy throughout your stay. Working with trusted local outfitters, they can arrange for mountain biking in Moab (one of the most well-known mountain biking areas in the world), guided hiking in Canyonlands National Park, rafting on the Colorado River, or rock climbing at Looking Glass Arch. Before you go, don’t forget to pick up a grab-n-go lunch at the resort to fuel your day.

Insider tip: Be sure to visit The Needles District in Canyonlands National Park. This can’t-miss destination features colorful sandstone spires that dominate the southeast corner of the park, and can be reached via hiking trails or four-wheel-drive roads. A short hike to Pothole Point rewards you with pools of water in the sandstone, an unexpected delight in the desert.

Reflecting on An Unforgettable Experience

When you get back to camp, unwind in one of the cool or hot dipping pools, enjoy fresh pressed juice or a smoothie from the onsite cafe, and reflect on the experience of staying in a luxury outdoor resort amidst the spectacular American Southwest. At ULUM Moab, we are committed to ensuring that you feel relaxed, rejuvenated, inspired, and more connected to yourself and the world around you than ever before.
